Natalie is a gifted 10 year old, raised by her single dad with some help from his parents and house keeper. She is a little lost. Taking classed with the 8 grade, she doesn't really have any friends, but finds a kindred spirit in Izzy, over their love of art. Izzy quietly takes on a cross between big sister, mentor to Nat.
Izzy has been crushing of Brent Eden since she met him the first day of her advanced art class when he dropped his daughter Natalie off. He comes to her rescue from when a stalker, a man she didn't even finish one date with, finds her at the school. Brent poses as her fiancé, with a steamy kiss to prove it. His little lie snowballs into an avalanche, when her cousin, a gossip of epic proportions, with snooping skills the CIA would envy, finds out.
The no fraternizing policy at the school, puts Izzy;'s dream job in jeopardy. Her mother and cousin are stalking Brent. His past and some shady dealing that his deceased brother was involved in, has him pulling Izzy close, for her own protection.
Her crazy family. A syndicate trying to draw Brent into their dirty dealing. His brilliant and precocious daughter. Have Brent's alpha nature on full alert.
A fast paced and steamy romantic drama. Love Brent. Izzy is the perfect women for him. Their wedding epic. Nat is a great kid. Loved Izzy's mom. Loved seeing the Grizzly MC make a show. Brent and Izzy's stands alone.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Nicole's books are an automatic buy for me. I know that I am going to get a great story that I will want to read again. A link to a bonus epilogue included. She generously included a few of her previously released titles.

Somewhere along the way, she fades into an objectified body that the male protagonist focuses on as a conquest to keep and protect. I am disappointed that the relationship devolves into lots of sex.

The sex-scene-reliant story is mixed with a dash of mystery, and is tainted with lots of intended revenge. Weirdly, although the hero plants bombs (with no worries about possible accidental carnage), the intended climax with his storyline ends up as a fireworks show, which is rather a let down.

The daughter makes an appearance throughout the story, but she is mostly relegated to various family babysitters in the second half. Her personality waivers between age-typical to too old, even if she is gifted.

While I enjoyed reading about the various characters, the profanity, the crude sex talk about body parts, and the “fading out” of the female protagonist as a preschool teacher left me more annoyed than satisfied.

There are lots of comma errors and a few grammatical errors. There is peril, some goons die, and there’s a lot of stereotypical “men think about sex all the time” characterization, which is tiring.
